founder story

This all started when, within a week of enrolling in my second degree in Physics, my marriage ended; pulling the stability and housing out from under me and leaving me three days from being homeless.

It made it impossible to engage with my studies despite wanting nothing more than to learn. I started tutoring to survive.

Walking into students’ homes and seeing how transformative support could be for students, and how inaccessible it was for those who couldn't afford it.

I was frustrated by the inequity it revealed. So, I built a company to change it.

Board Member

Bridget is a Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at the University of Technology, Sydney. Her work involves the study of decomposition and the resultant odours, supporting in the location of human remains. She is a stalwart of her laboratory group, and a keen collector of bird sightings, which she will happily share.

Founder and Chair

Cait is a current student of Physics and Mathematics at the University of Sydney, having previously studied Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne. She’s been a serving member of the Australian Defence Force for seven years first as a Combat Engineer and more recently as an officer cadet, and rides a motorbike - mostly to scare her mother.

Helen is beloved high school maths teacher at Lambton High School. A veteran with more than 20 years of teaching experience, and holding a degree in Mathematics (Applied) from the University of Newcastle she is adored by her classes, her daughters, and her dog Alice (pictured) alike. She also made the jumper that Cait is wearing in the image (left).

    So we work - and work fast - to find more effective ways of addressing this problem; doing away with the traditional approach of charities to one that prioritises growth of impact.

  • Nothing gets done alone - at least for not very long. So we aim to support and encourage those around us to achieve their excellence.
